GSA Contract Number GS-07F-0287V

After many years of selling fireproof vaults for government projects through GSA-approved general contractors, Firelock® is finally able to sell direct to government purchasers. The fireproof vaults manufactured and installed by Firelock® are ideal for protecting historic documents, historic artifacts, microfilm, film masters, computer backup tapes, server rooms and any other heat-sensitive assets.

Here are a few examples of the priceless artifacts and critical records currently protected in Firelock® vaults:

  • Original 17th Century land purchase agreements between colonists and native Americans
  • Documents from the Continental Congress reside in several different vault locations
  • The William Penn Walking Deed and many of the early maps of the country
  • Stradiveri violins and cellos in a private collection
  • Several unique art collections
  • Artifacts from the assassination of Abraham Lincoln
  • George Washington's personal papers
  • Original film masters and animation cells from a well-known entertainment company
  • Countless irreplaceable documents, microfilm and microfiche records for towns and counties all over the U.S.
  • The Texas State Archives, Indiana State Archives and Washington State's cutting edge Digital Archives all employ Firelock® vaults for protecting electronic and digital information assets
  • Backup tapes for municipal, county and state agencies
  • Medical records for healthcare organizations all over the U.S.

Vaults are available in these protection ratings:

Class 350 — For paper documents, the temperature must not exceed 350°F. inside the vault, even if the temperature outside the vault reaches 2,000°F. These document vaults are rated as Class 350-Four Hour, which means the temperature will remain below the critical threshold for at least four hours when exposed to the heat of a catastrophic fire.

Class 125 — For more heat-sensitive materials like micrographic and magnetic media the temperature must not exceed 125°F. even if the temperature outside the vault reaches 2,000°F. These data vaults are rated from Class 125-Two Hour, Three Hour or Four Hour, depending upon the size of the vault. Click here for information on vault sizes and time durations.
